Birmingham has more going on before 8pm than most cities manage all night. These 10 bars are the reason why - half-price cocktails, all-day deals, and a few genuinely outstanding offers that make a midweek afternoon feel like a proper occasion. All listed on the DayDrink Birmingham page.

City Centre | Mon-Fri 4pm-8pm, Sun 2pm-8pm
Sleek city centre cocktail bar that takes the martini seriously - and makes it very affordable to do the same. Half-price cocktails run most of the week, the futuristic interiors make it feel like an occasion rather than a pitstop, and the menu is substantial enough that you won't run out of things to try. No happy hour on Saturdays, which is worth knowing before you plan around it. Birmingham's most dramatically presented happy hour.

Bennetts Hill, City Centre | Mon-Fri 12pm-9pm
A botanical hideaway in a Grade II listed building on Bennetts Hill, where the happy hour runs from midday - long before most bars have even thought about a deal. Two cocktails for £12 across a menu that leans into fresh, garden-inspired flavours. The jungle foliage and eclectic interiors do the heavy lifting atmospherically, which means you're not just here for the discount. Gets busy with the after-work crowd later in the week, so earlier visits are calmer. Nine hours of happy hour, in a room that looks like this, is a serious offer.

Temple Street, City Centre | Mon-Thu 4-8pm, Fri 3-8pm, Sat 12-7pm, Sun 12-8pm
Three rooms, animal print everywhere, a cheetah watching over the Eden bar, and a 2-4-1 deal that runs seven days a week. The Cocktail Club doesn't do quiet - the Matthew Williamson interiors are genuinely impressive and the bartenders know what they're doing. Saturday and Sunday starts at midday, which makes weekend afternoon sessions very easy to justify. Jam Jar Daiquiris are the crowd favourite. Loud, lively, and worth every penny at 2-4-1.

Brindleyplace | Mon-Fri & Sun 5-9pm, Sat 1-6pm
Over 150 cocktails and a 2-4-1 deal that runs every single day. The Art Deco interiors and canal-side outdoor terrace make Brindleyplace's most reliable cocktail bar feel like more than just a happy hour stop. The bartenders are genuine pros - the quality holds up even at half the price. Saturday's early 1pm start is worth flagging for weekend afternoon plans. The Irish Disco Biscuit is worth ordering at least once. Consistent, high quality, and always worth the visit.

City Centre | Wed-Fri 5-9pm, Sun 2-10pm
Birmingham's pink palace of sass and sparkle runs happy hour Wednesday through Friday and all Sunday evening. The neon interiors, themed events, and general refusal to be anything other than maximally fun make this one of the more entertaining happy hour venues in the city. Sunday's 2pm start gives it a strong claim as the best way to end a weekend. No happy hour Monday, Tuesday, or Saturday - worth checking the events calendar before visiting as themed nights change regularly. Not subtle, completely worth it.

Temple Street, City Centre | Sun-Fri 4-8pm
£4.50 drinks Sunday to Friday - pints, prosecco, and house wine - in a space that does NYC loft better than most. Exposed brick, neon signs, plush leather booths, and a happy hour that runs six days a week. The deal is straightforward and the price is hard to argue with. Closes out on Saturdays which keeps the mid-week and Sunday sessions feeling more local. Good for groups, good for after work, and considerably more stylish than the price point suggests.

Gas Street Basin, City Centre | Mon-Fri 4-7pm
Ivy-covered walls, a skylight, a canal-side beer garden, and three hours of weekday happy hour that covers the post-work window neatly. Classic cocktails, pints of Pravha, and bottles of house wine all come in at prices that make staying for another round an easy decision. Dog-friendly throughout, which puts it ahead for anyone planning an afternoon with a dog in tow. The hanging kebabs are worth ordering alongside. One of the better-looking happy hour spots in the city, with a setting that earns it.

Temple Bar, Brindleyplace & Arcadian | All day, every day (excl. Fri-Sat 7-9pm)
Two cocktails for £13, all day, every day. The small print is a Friday and Saturday blackout between 7-9pm, which is easy enough to work around given the deal runs from opening until then. Mexican and South American flavours, loaded tacos, sizzling fajitas, and margaritas at half the usual damage. Three Birmingham locations mean there's always one nearby. Not trying to be the most sophisticated option on this list - very much trying to be the most fun.

Brindleyplace | All day, every day
Two cocktails for £13, every day, all day - no blackout windows, no caveats. Turtle Bay's deal is the most straightforward on this list and the Caribbean menu means you're eating properly alongside it. Jerk chicken, curries, plantain, rum cocktails, and a reggae soundtrack that makes Birmingham feel briefly warmer than it is. The Brindleyplace location is well placed for afternoon sessions by the canal. If simplicity and value are the priority, nothing here beats it.

Brindleyplace | Sun-Thu 4pm onwards
Two cocktails for £16 Sunday to Thursday, in one of Brindleyplace's most reliable spots. All Bar One does what it does well - a broad cocktail menu, a consistent standard, and a crowd that's here to enjoy themselves without any fuss. The canal-side location keeps it feeling more relaxed than the city centre alternatives. A solid option for those who want something dependable rather than experimental, at a price that makes staying for a few rounds entirely sensible.
