Kelham Island's brewing institution since the 1990s, backing directly onto Kelham Island Brewery and serving award-winning ales from hand pumps that have been pouring since before Sheffield's craft beer scene existed. The walled beer garden is a proper pub garden — sheltered, characterful, and perfectly suited to afternoon sessions with nowhere to be. CAMRA Good Beer Guide regular, traditional Victorian pub layout, homemade pies at the bar. This isn't a bar trying to be interesting — it's a great pub being exactly what it's always been. Afternoon drinking here feels like participating in Sheffield brewing history rather than just getting pints in. The locals who've been coming for decades and the craft beer tourists who've just discovered it coexist happily over excellent ales.
